A Survivor of Ottoman Art: Tophane Lüle (Condition Noted)
This is an authentic 19th-century Tophane pipe bowl, showcasing the master craftsmanship of the Ottoman Empire. While its red burnished clay and stamped floral motifs (with original gold gilded outlines) are magnificent, this piece is offered strictly as a historical artifact in as-is condition.
The Stamp: The distinct Tophane mühür (stamp) is partially visible and authenticates its origin.
Condition Notes: As shown in detail in images, there are significant chips and a partial loss on the rim (ağız), along with hairline surface cracks on the body. The original red finish is partially worn. This is a delicate relic, not for use, and sold primarily for historical display or restoration.
Artistry: Features rare remains of original gold gilding (varak) highlighting the stamped patterns.
Material: Fine red terracotta (kil).
